WebSphere Commerce Practice, Solution Architect Jan. 2008—PRESENT

Responsible for the architectural vision and client relationships of several ongoing WebSphere Commerce engagements including U.S. Mint, Tractor Supply and Luxottica Retail. Leading internal improvement programs in the WebSphere Commerce Practice with regards to training, tools, and processes. Lead screener for high-end technical recruits. Technical response lead for a winning proposal to take over the U.S. Mint’s large online operations based on WebSphere Commerce. Provide tactical, hands-on support to multiple client teams facing challenging technical issues.


TractorSupply.com, Technical Architect Jan. 2007—Jan. 2008

Responsible for the technical architecture, design and execution of TractorSupply.com on WebSphere Commerce platform (v6.0). Lead a team of upwards of 20 developers, administrators and business analysts in the full software development lifecycle of define, design, build, test and deployment of a completely new e-commerce website and backend integration. Launched successfully prior to the Christmas 2007 shopping season under a very aggressive timetable.


Kay.com, Technical Architect Feb. 2005—Dec. 2006

Responsible for the technical architecture, design and execution of Kay.com on WebSphere Commerce platform (v5.6.1). Lead a team of 8 developers and administrators in the technical design, build, test and deployment of a re-skinned catalog website with new e-commerce capabilities. Launched successfully prior to the Christmas 2006 shopping season using a team with limited prior WebSphere Commerce development experience.


RockyBoots.com, Lead Developer Apr. 2004—Feb. 2005

Responsible for the complete technical implementation of the RockyBoots.com website on WebSphere Commerce platform (v5.6). The development team consisted of an HTML developer, a business analyst and me. During this project, I was forced to learn every piece of WebSphere Commerce framework from installation through front-end development. Launched successfully prior to the Christmas 2005 shopping season.


RETS Intelligent Agent, Lead Developer Apr. 2003—Apr. 2004

Designed and developed a Web Service agent responsible for the transformation, aggregation, and caching of RETS XML data feeds for the Real Estate industry. Implemented a J2EE, Struts-based administration tool for the management of data sources and account information.


Health Care IVR Application, Lead Developer Oct. 2000—Feb. 2003

Designed and implemented an IVR application for the Home Health Care industry using Dialogic cards, C, C++, and Python Boost. Create a web-based interface for administration and reporting.


Web Development Class, Instructor Oct. 2000—Aug. 2002

Led 3 full-time, 6-week courses on web development; Topics included HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.


Knowledge Management Application, Lead Developer Jan. 2000—Oct. 2000

Developed remote service and plug-in for commercial Windows Knowledge Map product. The remote service handled the storage, transport, and versioning of "Knowledge Map" documents and was built using C++, MSXML and MSMQ. The plug-in provided an easy-to-use front-end to the remote service and was built using C++ and ATL/COM.


XML/SGML Authoring Tool Development, Lead Developer Jan. 1998—Dec. 1999

Developed several tools for authoring, parsing, transformation, and linking of XML and SGML data using Java, Python, and C/C++. Developed a graphical user interface tool for developing expert systems in SGML using C++ and MFC.
